Digitization and the development of information technologies (infrastructure, apps, smart devices, etc.) make information available anytime, anywhere. This requires organizations to take the necessary measures to prevent the loss of confidential business information such as commercial data, customer records and know-how. After all, the loss of confidential information can lead to competitors running off with trade secrets and privacy-sensitive information being out in the open. All this results in (enormous) damage, negative publicity and possibly even fines for violation of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).
