It may not have escaped your notice: from January 1, 2020, the regime for on-call contracts will become stricter. With the entry into force of the bill Arbeidsmarkt in Balans (WAB), employers must, among other things, offer on-call employees a fixed scope of work after twelve months. Employers are also obliged to call up an on-call worker in time (in writing or electronically) and to cancel a call in time. If an employer does not do the latter, the on-call worker is still entitled to the wages for the scheduled call - even if he has to work other hours on the same day, for example (in which case the on-call worker will receive "double" wages).
