"Car2Use: the private sharing car of Nijmegen center!"

Starting September 11, mobility options in Nijmegen have expanded. In cooperation with lease company Athlon, Poelmann van den Broek has placed an electric shared car on the grounds of the law firm on the St. Canisiussingel. Other firms and their employees can also use the shared car for their business appointments.

"Although Nijmegen-Centrum is easily accessible by public transport and bicycle, because of a possible business appointment or convenience, many people still take the car to work. This is not very sustainable, creates parking problems and is also an expensive solution. In fact, the car usually remains unused in the parking lot until it's time to go home." And this is where Car2Use offers a solution, explains Arjan Stuij -director of Poelmann van den Broek-. "It allows employees to travel to work by train or bike and book a Car2Use car for their business trips. You pay no fixed costs for this and you are only billed when the car is used. For this we had our own car that was idle too much, other companies also have to deal with this. Together we can ensure that optimal use is made of a shared car."

Measurable and sustainable

Participants can book, open and cancel the car online, using an app, and you only pay for the actual use. Arjan: "Car2Use not only registers the availability of the cars, but the system also provides insight into the trips driven. Each user must check the car for damage before use. From then on, the user is responsible for the condition of the car. As a result, damage is reported earlier than before and Athlon ensures that the car is cleaned."

"Not only does the planning system ensure that the availability of the shared cars improves, but the system also has a sustainable slant," says Arjan. "Employees who bike to work not only emit less^CO2 , but also work on their vitality. So doubly sustainable!"
