"I see this as a huge honor," Valerie says enthusiastically. "It's definitely an exciting step. My duties are obviously going to change with this new role. I have to find the right balance in that." After all, she wants to be able to continue providing sufficient support to her team, but also be able to put enough focus on Poelmann van den Broek as a whole from her role as director. However, Valerie has every confidence in this and looks forward to making her contribution and supporting Poelmann van den Broek in a different way.
Focus on innovation, sustainability and inclusiveness
As a board member, Valerie's focus will include developments such as AI and sustainability. After all, these are important topics. She would therefore like to work on the further integration and application of AI within the office, among other things. "That's an area we are already actively working on as an office, but its developments are moving at lightning speed." In addition, she wants to pay attention to inclusiveness and the needs of current and future generations. "There is always room for improvement when it comes to clarity, transparency and employee retention. Communication plays a key role in this," she explains. "Different generations in the office also think and communicate differently." She says it is important to pay extra attention to this for a future-proof office.
The future...
With the opening of our Amsterdam office last September, Valerie sees many opportunities for further growth and development. "Of course, the future is always difficult to predict, especially given the rapid developments around AI. But I see the future bright and am looking forward to this challenge. The new office in Amsterdam offers us a great base to further build on our office and our services," said Valerie.
An exciting but welcome challenge
That the move to the board was well considered is evident in Valerie's reflections on being asked to fill this role. "When I was asked, I did give it some thought. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I wanted to take this opportunity with both hands. It feels good to take this step now and I am convinced that I can make a valuable contribution with my experience and enthusiasm."
With Valerie joining the board, Poelmann van den Broek attorneys takes another step towards further professionalization and innovation. We warmly congratulate her on this new role and wish her every success!
